2024 Honda Accord in Corner Brook, NL

We might be living in the Age of the SUV, but the modest, economical, four-door sedan is still very much in demand by savvy drivers who want exceptional build quality, comfort, and fuel economy. The hybrid, a close cousin, adds spice to the mix.

Notable Changes From the Previous Year

The Accord was redesigned in 2023, so there are no notable changes for 2024.

Trims

The Accord has three trims for 2024. The only non-hybrid is the EX, priced from $ 39,445*. The two hybrids are the Sport Hybrid, coming in at $43,445*, and the premium offering is the Touring Hybrid, which comes in at $46,945*.

Infotainment and Technology Features

The EX has a 7.0-inch touchscreen running the infotainment system. In the hybrids, this is increased to a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The EX and Sport Hybrid have a standard audio system with eight speakers. The Touring Hybrid has a BOSE Premium Sound System with 12 speakers and HD radio connectivity.  Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the range, but only the hybrids offer this as a wireless option. Front USB charging ports are standard, but only the Touring offers them in the rear.

Exterior Design

The Accord has handsome styling with a chrome brow across the top of the grille. The rear slopes down, but not enough to affect headroom, to a pair of boomerang-style taillights. The EX trim sits comfortably on 17-inch wheels, while the hybrids have a little more ground clearance with 19-inch wheels. The LED lights are attractively displayed and automatically swap from low to high beam.

Interior Comfort and Cargo Space

Interior Comfort and Cargo Space

The interior of the Accord’s cabin carries all the hallmarks of Honda DNA. The air vents hide behind a honeycomb trim panel. The front seats were redesigned to be more comfortable, and in the EX and Sport Hybrid, they’re cloth-covered, but the Touring Hybrid scores leather trim with ventilation. The driver's seat has an eight-way adjustment, and the passenger seat has a four-way adjustment. Cabin comfort is managed by a dual-zone climate control system. Also, the Accord has 473 litres of cargo space.

Performance Features (Engine Type, Horsepower, Torque)

The EX is powered by Honda’s 1.5-litre, 16-valve, i-VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder motor that makes 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft torque. This motor drives the front wheels through a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The hybrid’s powertrain is different. The gas engine is a 2.0-litre, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine that makes 146 horsepower and 181 lb-ft torque on its own. This motor is coupled to two electric motors, giving 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft torque (combined). The hybrid trims also have a front-wheel drive through an electric Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). There’s no option for all-wheel drive.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

The Accord comes with Honda’s driver assistance technology, Honda Sensing. This bundle of features includes emergency braking, lane and road departure warning, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition. As with all Honda models, the passive safety features are exemplary. There’s also proximity keyless entry and remote engine start across the trims.
